The VoxInforma Podcast: Mike the Poet

For the latest episode of the VoxInforma podcast we interviewed a man who’s reputation precedes him: Mike the Poet.

Part poet, part tour guide, part historian, he’s been featured in the LA Times, the OC Weekly, and he’s been enjoyed and praised at venues across the southland. He’s also released an audio cd and a book of poetry titled “I am Alive in Los Angeles!”

Mike had so many great things to talk about that we didn’t want to cut him off, but we figure an hour should be a good enough dose to get you out to a venue to see this man in person, and we look forward to catching up with him in the future to talk more about his work.

To read more about Mike, check out the article on him in the LA Times.

The VoxInforma Podcast: Dave Romero

I’m pleased to announce that the first episode of the VoxInforma podcast is now available.

Artist, activist, male model and man of no small mystery David A. Romero was kind enough to join us in the voxinforma studio to discuss matters of life, politics and culinary seduction. Romero is an accomplished poet as well as former host of Diamond Bars. His poetry runs the gamut from introspective reflections upon mortality, militant demands for social justice and above all the call for a more inclusive vision of one global human family built on principles of equality, mutual respect and just and enduring relationships. He dedicates his poetry to the loving memory of his father, Richard Romero.

To download the podcast for your MP3 Player, right click the “Download” link and select “Save As.” This is our first shot fired, so bear with us. Also, check back in with us every two weeks or so for new episodes. Also keep an eye out for us in the iTunes store, as I’ll be working on making our podcast available there as well.

If you or an artist you know would like to be interviewed for the VoxInforma podcast, or if you’d like to work with our illustrious creative/technical crew, get in touch with us at admin@voxinforma.com, or leave a comment below and let us know who you are and what you’re about.

The Soundboard – Being Ian Ford

In the name of open source, creative commons, and other ideas, initiatives and bodies seeking to change our understanding of intellectual property, I give you my voice. Do with it what you will, and I hope that includes prank phone calls or something similar.

We’ll make a game out of it. You do something wrong with this, and I’ll try to deny responsibility. Go!
